Fountainhead Country Club celebrating Washington County Commission for Women's 8th annual Circle of Sister’s event.

I am pleased, honored and humbled to accept this award from the Washington County Commission for Women and to join past recipients who I have admired and respected. Thanks to my family, friends and Zion Baptist Church who supported my nomination and for the ones that was unable to make it due to other obligations, but wanted to be there.

Everyone has a purpose in life, living with happiness, living your dreams and living free from fear and worry. You are never too old or young to pursue what you want in life. My motto has always been “Don’t let others define who you are” There are many definitions of success, but only one definition of failure: Giving up. “Never give up.” It’s probably one of the most cliché phrases you’ll hear as you’re building your career.

Stay around positive people who can encourage you, and lift you up through the good times and bad. Then watch as you and everything around you begins to change for the better!"

Winners never quit and quitters never win. Everyone has obstacles and every obstacle has a solution. Obstacles provide an opportunity to learn and grow. With every adversity there is an equivalent or greater opportunity. Successful people utilize their obstacles as stepping stones to reach their goals. Others use their problems as excuses to justify complacency.

Don’t fear life’s problems. Learn and grow from them. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll continue to get what you’ve always got. Trust God and know that he will be there every step of the way to see that you fulfill your God given purpose.

Don’t be jealous, envy of other peoples’ success; put people down, or judge folks all because they are not where you think they should be. In God’s timing everything will blossom if you believe. We all have the talent and purpose in life to be what we want it to be. Everyone learns at a different pace. Be happy for one another. Life is too short to be in other people’s business that is not encouraging you, or uplifting you.

I believe that anyone can improve their life and take it to the next level. Success is a part outcome of your work, commitment to a change and sticking to the right strategy. No one's life is perfect but everyone has the freedom to overcome obstacles. Be the best you can be at everything you do. Be discipline, determine and consistent and you will get the changes you want.

Thanks again, to the Washington County Commission for Women
Giving God All the Glory!

Linda
